Mehmet & Mürvet
After being initiated (having graduated) as a couple with Nalan and Nicolas on 21st of September 2019 our path in life has significantly changed us. Previously we were working professionally as producer (Mehmet) and corporate development trainer (Mürvet). Days were passing with a very busy work schedule and our dream of waking up in nature was far away.
When we came to our village house in Milas (Bodrum-Türkiye) during the pandemic on 18th of March 2020, weeds in the garden welcomed us. Even though we were not aware of it in those days, we started to create our own private garden day by day, step by step. By trying to learn the cycles and laws of nature, to work with Mother Earth, to be in the flow instead of asking mentally questions starting with “why” we have noticed over time our inner senses (How many senses do we have?) beyond the 5 senses we know. We tried to be spontaneous, to live in the moment, to analyze the messages that nature’s beings try to give us and to manifest our individual virtues in our lives, especially by working on our vices and qualities. In this transformation, we have experienced great transformations and awarenesses, both individually and as a couple.
With the message dreams Mehmet saw we created our ancestral garden, which first started with a door and then turned into a workshop. We tried to understand the message of eagles, hawks, turtles, cats and many different beings entering into our lives. Mehmet taking Mother Nature as his teacher worked with the pendulum and chakras. Over the years our friends and visitors have experienced a transformation with us by noticing the bottlenecks in their own lives through our conversations, labyrinth walks, work upon the pendulum and different techniques.
With our dog Charlie, who came from Elbistan, we left the city life and settled in our village for good. Together we design and implement games to be used in team workshops. At the same time, our workshop has become an inseparable part of our lives, where we both work and share our individual awareness with friends and develop together.
In our professional life; Mürvet is working as a consultant for the development of teams and cooperations aiming happier employees and is about to finish her second book. Mehmet, on the other hand, continues his work as a producer and is besides this a carpenter, gardener, designer of wood furniture and applications that will make people feel happy.
What we offer within the scope of Via Hygeia: Labyrinth Walking
What is a labyrinth?
It is a spiral walking path that increases the use of the holistic brain, which has become popular again in our age, especially in America, in universities, parks, hospitals and churches, and is found in more than 4500 places in America alone.
Daniel H. Pink’s use of the labyrinth as a tool for searching for meaning in his best-selling book “New Frontiers of Mind”, in which he offers suggestions to contemporary business professionals, has increased its popularity. The labyrinth, as stated in the book, is an escape for the right brain. Concentrating on the road ahead, the left brain deals with the logical progression of walking, while the right brain remains free for creative thinking.
A labyrinth can be defined as a path that takes you to its center when you follow the path in front of you from its entrance. It is an ancient archetype dating back approximately 4,000 years, used symbolically as a space for meditation, dance, thinking, and ritual. Labyrinths are tools used for personal, psychological and spiritual transformation and have also been observed to increase right brain activity.
Labyrinth Walking
Walking in the labyrinth can actually be explained as stepping into a special area and embarking on a journey of personal discovery.
Along the way, you can release your personal tensions, anxieties, or distractions, and come back feeling uplifted and renewed, open to insight and inspiration at the center. While walks can be created with different materials in the work area, tools such as a finger labyrinth that is processed on a large canvas or that you hold in your hand are also used.
- Number of participants: Depending on the area to be used, it can be applied from 1 person to hundreds of people.
- Duration: A workshop designed with a labyrinth takes 2-3 hours. The labyrinth walking exercise alone takes about an hour.
- A few workshop examples:
o Worry-Catcher Labyrinth Workshop: A workshop using labyrinth walking on internal relaxation and letting go, where we surrender our worries to the labyrinth (2.5 hours face-to-face)
o Chakra Balancing Labyrinth Workshop: After brief information about the chakras, intention setting and labyrinth walking are performed. At the same time, individual chakra balancing is performed using the pendulum. (3 hours face-to-face)
o Potential Awareness and Blockage Coaching Studies are applied individually. It is an individual study carried out using different tools and tests, as well as the Labyrinth, in order for the person to receive coaching to reach the determined development point. It is run by Mürvet Gülseven.
