In A Nutshell: The Psoas Muscle and Trauma

“When faced with danger, muscles contract to protect the person from harm. The psoas muscles (so-called “connectors”) are the muscles that play the most important role in the fight/flight response in humans. The psoas muscles remain contracted until danger is over.” [source: www.health24.com] Children and animals are trembling in order to release the trauma in the body. And adults? They collect it.

There is a movement in Gurdjieff’s Sacred Movements called ‘Trembling Dervish’. There is a lot to discover in Gurdjieff’s multifaceted teaching.
