In A Nutshell: In Statu Nascendi

Polish theatre director and theorist Jerzy Grotowski (Grotowski’s Poor Theatre and Via Negativa) was using the term ‘in statu nascendi’ very often. Roughly it means ‘a state of constant development/birth’. If this becomes a part of our philosophy of life we are constantly facing our self from the previous stage and prefer to be hungry towards every thing new life brings instead to stay and rest on what we know already or have achieved so far.
