Mythology Of Modern Man (Level 1)
Program İngilizce dilinde gerçekleşmektedir.
Men are damaged from an early age and this quote from Bell Hooks says it all:
‘The first act of violence that patriarchy demands of males is not violence toward women. Instead, patriarchy demands of all males that they engage in acts of psychic self-mutilation, that they kill off the emotional parts of themselves. If an individual is not successful in emotionally crippling himself, he can count on patriarchal men to enact rituals of power that will assault his self-esteem.’ ― Bell Hooks.
Mythology can give us efficient tools to create awareness about our current situation beyond the problematic circumstances we find ourselves in. The societies we live in effectively alter both core manhood and womanhood, depriving us of the best qualities of both genders to create a balanced, harmonious and fair partnership. Further, the modern world is only beginning to understand the traditional knowledge of further genders that humans inhabit. The great divide around themes related to masculinity and manhood has never been so obvious and lethal with frontal and co-lateral victims we cannot hide anymore. Something has gone wrong and we can take this chance to gather, create meaning through the study of perrneial wisdom, and create the basis of a return to our core values and life purpose, something sometimes hidden in the ancestral expereince of the varieties of maleness. With the knowledge of ancient lore on the topic, more possibilities for understanding ourselves open up.
